LehighSiliconValley includes 55 students across 4 topical tracks. Let's learn more about them!
Abby Miller '19 | Start Up
Major | IBE: Industrial and Systems Engineering
Minor | Computer Science, Data Science, and Economics
Every opportunity I go after, I always ask myself: “Will this make me uncomfortable enough?” because the act of being uncomfortable is how I achieve what I set out to achieve. If I am not uncomfortable, I know that I am either not trying hard enough or the opportunity just isn’t right for me. To be uncomfortable is to be a first generation student, to travel to a developing country my first time out of the U.S., to start my own eco-friendly jewelry company. To be uncomfortable is to be me.
Travis Martinez '21 | Arts Entrepreneurship Major | IDEAS: Mechanical Engineering and Theatre Design
I am truly happy when I get to spend 12 hours of a bright sunny day sitting in a large dark room. No I am not crazy, nor am I antisocial; I work in theatre. The arts are my home. Design is my passion. Engineering drives my thinking. And this large dark room, a theater begging to be designed, is my canvas. A free thinker. Dreamer. Inspired artist and tech lover. Observer of beauty and design. Researcher of the intersection between engineering and the arts and how that combination forms emotionally driven and technologically backed productions of meaningful beauty.
Morgan Sharinn '20 | FinTech
Major | Finance and Business Information Systems
I've lived in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island my whole life. My hometown is extremely small, so I was very excited to go to college and immerse myself in new groups of people with varying perspectives and background. I am a Finance and Business Information Systems major because I find it intriguing how much technology has impacted and improved our lives. I would like to be a part of the positive change that technological advancement brings. This is the reason why I chose the FinTech track for the Silicon Valley Program. I am most excited for the Lehigh in Silicon Valley program because I believe there is nothing more fascinating than learning of a new subject with professionals from different parts of the world.
